From loose text to your first slide draft

If you already have an account, the "Login" button takes you straight to the app. Sign-up runs in English — that doesn't change the language of your slides.

Inside the app, look for the button that creates a new project (something like "+ New" or "New presentation").

What I learned testing it (and where I tripped up)
Do this
- Write your text or topic straight in whatever language you need in the generation box — the AI understands and returns content in that same language, even with an English menu.
- Use the element library (comparisons, funnels, charts) for slides that need structure, instead of building from scratch.
- Review the generated text before presenting for real — it organizes ideas well, but the tone tends to come out more generic than your own voice.
Avoid
- Expecting a localized app: screens, buttons and messages in Alai are in English — only the generated content comes out in the language you write.
- Burning through the 300 free credits without noticing: they don't renew on their own, and once they're gone, you need a paid plan to keep generating.
- Trusting the final text for an important meeting without re-reading it: the draft tends to sound shallow and needs adjusting before it hits the big screen.

Being direct: is it worth it?

I tested it with a sales summary and, in a few seconds, already had a draft with four variations of each slide — none perfect right away, but all looking professionally designed, far from a plain white slide with a bullet point. That's the real strength: you're never stuck with a single layout. What bugs me is that the entire app — menus, buttons, error messages — is in English, and the text the AI writes tends to come out more "presentable" than compelling; I rewrote a good chunk of it before showing it to anyone for real. If you're comfortable enough with English on screen and want to save time on design, it pays off. If anything outside your native language trips you up, the entry barrier is real.

Questions before you spend your first credit
Is Alai really free?
There's a genuine free plan, no credit card needed: you get 300 credits to create unlimited presentations, with access to the element library and up to 10 AI slides per prompt. The difference from paid plans is that these credits don't renew — once they run out, you need to subscribe to Plus ($20/month) or another plan to keep generating.
Do I need a credit card?
No, not for the free plan. A card is only needed if you decide to subscribe to a paid plan (Plus, Pro or Ultra).
Does it work in Portuguese?
The content, yes: write your topic or paste your text in Portuguese and Alai generates the slides in the same language. What doesn't change is the interface — menus, buttons and error messages in the app are in English.
Does it work on mobile?
Alai runs in the browser, so it opens on mobile, but it's a layout-building tool — like most design editors, it works much better on a large screen (laptop or desktop) than on a phone.
Can I import a PowerPoint I already have?
Yes. Alai accepts importing existing PDF or PPT files to reorganize and "beautify" the design of a presentation you already have, instead of starting from scratch.
Do free-plan credits renew every month?
No. The 300 free credits are one-time — they don't come back on their own. On paid plans (Plus, Pro, Ultra), credits renew every month.
