The summary for teachers short on time
I tested it by building a 6th-grade plan on equivalent fractions: in under three minutes it came back with an objective, an activity and even an assessment suggestion. I did have to type "BNCC" in by hand, though, since Brazil's national standard isn't on the ready-made list. For teachers working with an international curriculum — WAEC, Common Core, IB — Lessonsquill delivers exactly what it promises, fast and without fuss. For anyone who depends on real BNCC alignment, it helps as a draft. Not as a properly aligned tool.

A way to write the topic that gets a better plan
Equivalent fractions, 6th grade — a review lesson for students who already saw the basic concept. Bring at least one everyday example (a recipe or splitting a plot of land), end with a pair activity, and include an assessment question that asks the student to explain their reasoning, not just pick the right answer.
The plan that comes back already includes the pair activity and the reasoning question you asked for — plus an objective and pacing for each step you didn't even ask for.
Do this (and avoid that)

- Prefer "Sign in with Google" to skip a password step.
- Write the topic with detail — subject matter, class level, what's already been covered. The more context, the more ready-to-use the plan comes out.
- When your curriculum isn't on the list — as with BNCC — type its name into the standard field anyway.
Avoid
- Don't count on a Portuguese menu — the whole interface is in English.
- Don't generate plan after plan without need: the free plan only gives 3 of each type per month, and the counter doesn't forgive testing.
- Don't expect a watermark-free PDF on the free plan — that only comes with Pro (US$5/month).

Worth it if you…
- Teach with a curriculum that's already on the list (WAEC, NECO, Common Core, IB, CAPS and others) and want a fast draft instead of starting from scratch
- Homeschool or tutor privately and don't need to follow a closed official standard
- Are fine typing in your own curriculum by hand when it's not ready on the list, and reviewing the result before using it in class
Think twice if you…
- Depend on true BNCC alignment to report to your school or education department
- Build more than 3 plans (or notes, or slides) a month and don't want to pay Pro's US$5
- Don't read even basic English — the whole interface, from menu to form, is in that language
Other doors when Lessonsquill doesn't fit
If your biggest problem is turning lesson content into a presentation, Gamma builds the slide design on its own. If you already have the lesson material ready — a PDF, an article, a handout — and just want a summary (or even a podcast) to review with the class, NotebookLM reads your documents and answers based only on them. And if what's missing is writing something from scratch — a text, a model essay, a longer explanation — ChatGPT is still the general-purpose all-rounder that Lessonsquill doesn't even try to be.

Is Lessonsquill free?
Yes, and forever — not just a trial. The free plan gives you 3 lesson plans, 3 lesson notes, 3 worksheets, 3 slide presentations and 3 schemes of work per month, no card required. Once you pass that monthly volume you hit the limit and either wait for the month to reset or upgrade to Pro.
Do I need a credit card?
No, not to create an account or to use the free plan. You sign up with email and password or with "Sign in with Google". A card is only needed if you decide to subscribe to Pro (US$5/month).
Is the interface available in Portuguese?
No — the site and dashboard are in English, with no translation option that I could find. The field names (grade, subject, topic, curriculum standard) are simple enough to follow even with basic English, but don't expect a Portuguese menu.
Does it work for Brazil's curriculum, the BNCC?
Not out of the box. The official standards list includes Common Core, WAEC, NECO, NERDC, the UK National Curriculum, IB, CBSE, ICSE, CAPS, Cambridge International, Kenya's CBC and the Philippines' K-12 curriculum — Brazil isn't on it. You can type "BNCC" manually into the standard field, but the site doesn't guarantee real alignment with it.
Does it work on mobile?
I couldn't find a dedicated app — the way in is opening lessonsquill.com in your phone's browser. It works, but the form fields are more comfortable on a computer screen.
Can I export to Word?
Yes, but only on the Pro plan. On the free plan, export is PDF-only and comes with the Lessonsquill watermark.
