What it is

A PowerPoint that builds itself from a single sentence

Gamma is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence to create presentations, documents and web pages. You describe your topic in plain language — the way you would explain it to a colleague — and it generates slides with text, images and layout in under a minute. Think of it as a slide assistant that already knows design: you bring the content, it handles the look and structure.

It works in the browser, nothing to install. The account is free and requires no credit card.

Why it matters

The proposal you haven't sent yet because you ran out of time

You know what you need to present. But opening PowerPoint, creating slides from scratch, picking colors, searching for images — that takes hours you don't have before a meeting.

60 s

That's how long Gamma takes to generate a complete presentation from your topic. You still edit and fine-tune — but you start from something finished, not a blank screen.

According to data published by the company itself, over 30 million presentations have already been created with the tool.

In your day

How professionals from different fields use it

Sales rep

Prepares a personalized commercial proposal before a client meeting: writes the company name and the product, and in 60 seconds has presentable slides. Before, this took an entire afternoon in PowerPoint.

Small business owner

Creates a services presentation to share as a link — no file attached. The client opens it on their phone, sees something professional, and the company looks bigger than it is.

Teacher

Builds a new lesson in minutes: describes the topic, picks the number of slides, adjusts the text and has ready-to-project material — no design expertise needed.

Step by step

From zero to your first presentation

// interface verified in June 2026 — if something looks different, use Gamma's help to find the button by name
  1. Go to gamma.app and create your account

Click "Sign up for free". You can sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple or email. No credit card is required. The free plan starts with 400 credits.

  2. Click "Create new"

On the home dashboard, find the button to start a new project. Choose the type: "Presentation", "Document" or "Page".

    for this tutorial, choose Presentation
  3. Choose "Generate with AI"

Three options appear: generate with AI from a prompt, paste existing text, or import a file. Choose the first one.

  4. Write your topic

In the text box, describe the subject in plain language. The more context you give, the better the result. Example: "Sales proposal for building maintenance services — client: 200-unit condominium".

also set the number of slides (cards) you want
  5. Review the suggested outline

The AI proposes a topic outline before generating the slides. You can edit, reorder or remove topics. Click "Continue" when you are happy with it.

  6. Choose a visual theme and click "Generate"

Pick one of the available layout options or click "Surprise me". Generation happens in real time, card by card.

  7. Edit and share

Click any text to rewrite it. Use the built-in AI chat to request adjustments ("Make this slide more concise"). To share, copy the public link or export as PDF or PowerPoint.

Replace the fields in brackets and paste into Gamma's text box. You get 8 slides ready to edit.

What few people know

Tips and common mistakes

Do this

  • Use the built-in AI chat to request adjustments after generation: "Rewrite this slide as 3 short bullet points".
  • Share via public link instead of exporting: the client opens it on their phone and you preserve your credits.
  • Explore the "Page" type too — you can create a publishable mini landing page with a free gamma.site domain.

Real limitations

  • The free plan has limited credits: exporting to PowerPoint or generating AI images burns through them quickly.
  • Layout control is more limited than in traditional PowerPoint: you adjust within templates, but don't have full pixel-level freedom.
  • Free plan presentations show the Gamma logo in the footer — removing it requires a paid plan.

Challenge · 5 minutes

Create the presentation you should have made weeks ago

Think of something you need to present — to a client, manager or team. Open Gamma, write the topic in one sentence and generate. Don't edit anything yet.

You succeeded if, in under 2 minutes, you have slides you wouldn't be embarrassed to show in a meeting today.

Is it worth it?

Our honest take on Gamma

4.3

4.3 out of 5

If you've ever sweated over a presentation hours before a meeting, Gamma feels like magic: you type a sentence and it hands back finished slides — text, images and layout — right in the browser, in Portuguese. The price helps: Plus runs R$ 30/mo on the annual plan, cheap for what it does. The two honest catches: the 400 free credits never renew (use them up, you're stuck), and exporting to PowerPoint loses fidelity — gradients turn flat, fonts swap. To present via Gamma's own link, great. To hand over a rigid company .pptx template, expect adjustments.

Tested and checked against official sources on July 2, 2026.

What's in its favor

  • Generates a full presentation (text, images and layout) from a sentence in Portuguese, right in the browser, no install.
  • Affordable prices in reais for the category: Plus at R$ 30/mo and Pro at R$ 70/mo on the annual plan, shown on the official page.
  • Genuinely usable free plan: no card, with PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides export included (with a watermark).
  • Goes beyond slides: creates documents, publishable sites on a gamma.site subdomain, social posts and charts.
  • Runs top-tier AI models under the hood — Claude, ChatGPT + DALL-E, Gemini + Imagen, Flux, Ideogram.

Where it falls short

  • The 400 free credits never renew: use them a few times and you're locked out unless you pay or invite friends.
  • Everything you export or share on free carries the 'Made with Gamma' mark; removing it needs a paid plan.
  • PowerPoint/PDF export loses fidelity: Gamma's own help center admits gradients can turn flat and fonts change.
  • Layout control is limited to the 'card' system: you adjust within templates but can't freely position elements like in PowerPoint.
  • The card limit per generation is tied to the plan (10 on Free, 20 on Plus, 60 on Pro): long decks generated at once need a paid plan.
Is it free? How much does it cost

Gamma's prices, in reais

The free plan exists and needs no card — but watch the catch: the 400 credits you get at signup never renew. Paid plans give monthly credits and remove the watermark.

Free

R$ 0 — 400 credits (don't renew), up to 10 cards per generation, exports with a 'Made with Gamma' mark. No card.

Plus

R$ 30/mo annually — 1,000 credits/mo, up to 20 cards and removes the watermark.

Pro

R$ 70/mo annually — 4,000 credits/mo, up to 60 cards and better models.

Ultra

R$ 495/mo annually — 20,000 credits and maximum features. For very heavy use.

Good to know: the standalone monthly billing costs more — the prices above are on the annual plan, as shown on the official page. Prices as of July 2026.

Comparing

Gamma vs Canva (and the others)

The classic question is Gamma or Canva. The truth: Gamma wins on speed — from text to a full deck, nobody's faster. Canva wins on design control and its huge element library. If you want to finish fast, Gamma; if you want to polish the visuals, Canva. Beyond that pair:

Is it for you?

Who Gamma makes sense for

Great fit if you…

  • are a salesperson or freelancer who needs a professional-looking proposal hours before a meeting, with no design skills.
  • own a small business and want to send a services presentation via a WhatsApp link, opened on the client's phone with no attachments.
  • want to test AI for slides at no cost, no card — Free lets you actually feel the tool.
  • also need a simple web page or social posts and don't want to learn another tool.

Think twice if you…

  • need to deliver a .pptx in a company's rigid template: export loses fidelity (gradients and fonts shift).
  • present every week and don't want to pay: the 400 free credits run out and don't come back — steady use needs a subscription.
  • are a designer who demands pixel-perfect control: Gamma decides much of the layout for you.
