Click "Sign Up" (top right). You can sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Discord. No credit card required. The free plan gives you up to 10 songs per day.
- Click "Create" in the left sidebar

Describe the style, mood, and theme: "upbeat jazz about Monday mornings, funny lyrics, female vocals". The more specific, the better the result. Then click the "Create" button.
- Wait about 30 seconds and listen to both generated options
Suno always generates 2 versions from the same description. Listen to both before deciding. If neither works, click "Reuse Prompt" to generate two new variations.
- For more control: activate the "Custom" button
The Custom toggle appears above the description field. It separates the lyrics ("Lyrics") from the musical style ("Style of Music"). Paste or write your lyrics in the "Lyrics" field. In the style field describe: "acoustic folk, soft guitar, slow tempo, melancholic".

Click the three-dot menu next to the song and choose "Download". The file exports as MP3. On the free plan, songs are visible on your public Suno profile.

Tips & common mistakes
Do this
- In Custom mode, detail the style with real musical terms: "bossa nova, 80 BPM, fingerpicking guitar, soft voice". The more precise, the closer to the expected result.
- Use structure tags in the lyrics: [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge]. Suno respects this layout and generates the song in the order you specified.
- Generate multiple rounds before deciding. The same description produces different results each time — try at least 3 rounds.
Avoid
- Expecting perfect pronunciation in non-English languages. Portuguese sounds (like "ção", "lhão") can come out distorted — a real limitation reported by the Suno community.
- Using free-plan songs commercially. Monetization on YouTube, paid ads, or resale requires a paid plan — the free plan does not include commercial rights.
- Putting private or sensitive information in lyrics. On the free plan, all songs are visible on your public Suno profile — anyone can listen.

But there's a big catch, and it's legal. On the free plan the song isn't yours: Suno owns it, and you can only use it personally, nothing commercial. And Portuguese pronunciation still slips on words with tricky sounds. For fun, personal use, testing: go for it, free.
